Good depth. Still trying to figure out if he’s that much of a downgrade from Carlos Gomez
tomymogo
He has one of the best arms I’ve ever seen
vonhayesdays
yeah but defensive substitution only work when your winning

Maybe Melvin is assembling a 5-tool superstar in his laboratory – one tool at a time.
We’ll know for sure when a track star goes missing.

i thought that was ‘faster than reyes’ carlos gomez?
PostMoBills
If this is the case, the Brewers may need him in the rotation.

Are they thinking conversion??

Dont know too much about this guy… why are we picking up more outfielders?

As someone said above, he has a ridiculously strong arm. I’d argue it’s the best in the game today. It’s not only strong, but deadly accurate. His throws always come on a bounce by design and he generally only throws about at 85% strength, because as Jeff Conine and Andre Dawson told him “You’re 85% will beat other’s 110%”.
As a defensive replacement, he’s fantastic, only problem is that Brett couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat. But man, it’s fun seeing people try to take a base on him because they have no idea what’s coming to them.

As a Marlins fan who has seen that cannon, I completely agree.
Needs to hit better to be a good 4th OF option, but from what I remember, he has good power against lefties (and a winning smile [which is worth about .1 WAR, right? At least!])

So we have Boggs, Reed, Gomez, Dickerson and now Carroll… why?

This is just the Royals sending a thank you gift to the Brewers for taking Yuniesky Betancourt off their hands…

He’s not on the major league roster. They needed another AAA outfielder at least for a while. Jeremy Reed was ticketed for AAA, but appears to have won a roster spot over Brandon Boggs who is out of options and might be lost. Chris Dickerson will likely make the roster on opening day only because Hart figures to spend a week or 10 days on the DL.
Once Hart returns, Dickerson being optioned is the logical move. With several other minor league OF hurt, Carroll probably sticks around even then.

If Dickerson can hit, and if Gomez struggles, will they still send dickerson down? Reed and Boggs are both playing well in ST, any chance the brewers try to move one?
