You wrote Jeff Weaver instead of Jered… I read that and was wondering why in the world the Yankees would want Jeff. You may want to fix that. There is no way they get Jered 0% chance, I’m sure they can have Jeff for the league minimum though.
Dave_Gershman
Maybe he meant Jeff?
MaineSox
Maybe, but the article he linked to was about Jered.
Dave_Gershman
Well whatever. People make mistakes here and there.

I was just informing them so they can fix it…

Click the link to the article, the title of the article/blog is “Contrary to Popular Belief, Jered Weaver Will Not Be a Yankee By 2013.” According to the article, any player who is “awesome” is assumed to play for the Yankees in the near future. Don’t waste your time reading it, it’s like a Chris Chase article.
Dave_Gershman
Yeah. I understand.

Scouting baseball broadcasters will surely rest prominently as one of the greatest ideas ever conceived in baseball history.

I’m sure there’s a couple teams that would be interesting in Hunter Pence. Hell, the Braves might be interested in him depending on who produces and injuries.

I like the Braun deal. A player like him (is there any player quite like him?) would never sign with Brewers as a free agent. Maybe if they get Jason Werth money they go there. I’d put my money on Braun.
He knows the park, he grew up with quite a few of his teammates, he’s a very good player-he’s top five in several offensive categories right now, and looks to be an MVP contender this year. The fans see him as a Rock Star-one that’s proud to wear the Brewers uniform. The Brewers want him to retire a Brewer. Braun agrees. They don’t want to have a Pujols situation play out with Braun. Make no mistake, he is just as important to the Brewers as Pujols is to the Cardinals.
If your lucky enough to come up with a fine hitter like Braun, you keep him.

I would hope for the Yankees’ sake that Jeff Weaver will not be on the team in 2013.

With that kind of lead there is no reason to send out ANY pitcher in the ninth already at 113 pitches.

7th Inning Stretch neglected to mention that the Diamondbacks also received Tyler Skaggs in the Dan Haren deal.
BK
It seems as if he did.

WOW that article about why Weaver won’t be a Yankee is absolute junk.. They list Hernandez as a pitcher, like Lee who has turned down the yankees, because he signed an extension with the Mariners.. umm okay?
The rest of the article is crap too. It has the justification and reasoning of an elementary school paper.

The Haren article fails to mention Skaggs, the Top 100 prospect acquired inthe trade

So many great posts in this.

I would think a lot of teams would want Hunter Pence in their outfield if the Astros made him available. He’s a bit above average major league player. He still has a few years of team control. and he’s dedicated to the sport-he’ll give you everything he has every time he steps onto the field.
He’s young enough to be kept around-which I would do if I was the Astros. Unless someone made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
Everyone always advocates selling off your players because you aren’t going to win now. Someone HAS to play your games in the meantime. You can’t set everyone loose-you got to have something to build around, and at least a few respectable players kept around during the interim. I say Pence stays.

Get Pence simply for the fact that he is a PHILLIE KILLER! He mashes against us.
