will hanley return to his old self? oh of course a team like the marlins doesnt matter to the baseball world
Threat_Level_RedSox
You mean no scouts believe Jeter can borrow doc brown’s delorean and go back to 1999 to “relearn” his hitting skills from his old self to save his future.

….Or, you know, 2009….

I love NY writers. The past few years they drag Reyes through the coals for being injured, having mental lapses, and under-performance. Now he’s a player the Mets need to keep to build around.

NY sports writers & double-talk. A shameful yet long-held tradition. ☹ ☁
Apparently these guys are ‘exempt’ from scrutiny by their own decree.
Coach Steve Tucker
I think Jeter’s best days are behind him….
YanksFanSince78
At age 36…you think? Can’t you apply that to anyone not named Barry Bonds?
JavyNYY
Check Jeter today… I think he’s getting tired of all the bad talk these days. 3 for 3 HR
zack
Totally unrelated, but how bad is Bay’s contract looking right now? The guy looks absolutely lost, Collins had better give Ike the five spot in the lineup soon
YanksFanSince78
OMG…..RF is where most HRS are hit and Jeter hasn’t hit any so far this year. NYS is actually tougher on RH hitters vs LH hitters.
did I just use”OMG”? My apologies.

Derek Jeter – 4 for 4, 2 HR’s
Barry
Forget Reyes, amazing talent but he is just another hot shot in his walk year that will have a great season get signed to a huge contract and do nothing after, a la carlos beltran
YanksFanSince78
Before he had hisinjury issues Beltran had 4 years where he avg’d 29 hrs, 20 sb and had a solid .275/.360 line w/ good defense. No exactly a chump.
Sylvan
What are you talking about? Beltran has averaged almost 5 WAR per season since coming to the Mets, even with losing a year’s time to injuries. He’s hit .280/.366/.500 with four All-Star appearances and three well-deserved Gold Gloves. Any team would kill to be guaranteed production like that from a seven-year contract.

Where do some of these “reporters” get their info from. Ridic.
