Daniel Ray Herrera? Really Mets? lol
Nick Herrin
What? You have something against midgets?
metsman
I’m sure Dustin Pedroia is crying himself to sleep after reading your comment.

He reminds me of a Juan Berenguer bobblehead.

So a crappy piece in A ball and a reliever who could be semi-decent. Seems like a fair return for K-Rod and his retarded option.

Herrara has posted a 1.42 ERA and an 0.938 WHIP in 42 2/3 innings since being demoted by the Brewers. He only faced 11 hitters with the Brewers. Those limited results are meaningless as is his height. Bobby Shantz was 5’6″ and won 24 games for the Phillies in 1952. I’m not suggesting Herrera is Bobby Shantz, but he’s not unlike a lot of marginal lefty relievers of any size who have ups and downs. Those guys do have some value, albeit limited.

Too bad DRH wasn’t traded to 1952.

Weak.

I’ve never seen an article about Herrera that didn’t mention his height. He’s like the yin to Jonathan Broxton’s gigantic yang.
And yes, I know gigantic yang sounds dirty.
PhnxCrew
haha. We let the cardinals back in it but this is some good news…. here we thought it would be some one good.
metsman
prick 😉

These pitchers have decent potential but the Brewers won this trade by far since they got an established closer for 2 guys who probably wouldnt get much of a chance with the Brewers.

And the Mets saved $17.5 mil. Not having to give up a good prospect to Mil for taking KRod was a win. SA has made 2 good deals so far…
Mike
Well DRH could benefit off Citifield….that ballpark is up there with Petco and the Colosseum as to favoring pitchers.

More crappy prospects for a crappy farm
michael
I’m guessing after the season, most experts will rank the Mets farm system almost exactly middle of the pack. Maybe slightly better. They’re not top ten or anything, but it’s not a crappy farm system.

K-Rod was a salary dump pure and simple…They really didn’t care who they got for him….The fact that they got one guy with MLB experience is a plus
