Girardi must really not want Posada to catch.
Pretty cool that a lot of the young kids are up and possibly in the lineup together.

Well, I don’t think it’s that he doesn’t WANT Posada to catch. It’s that Posada hasn’t worked out as a catcher all year and didn’t even catch in spring training. For one night, he was passable but just like pitchers have to get into mid-season form, catchers also build up a toughness during the year. Posada is probably plenty sore today and isn’t capable of catching too many days in a row. Plus, with the roster expanded to 40, why not call up the kids? They’re just looking for a good receiver. Anything Romine provides with the bat will be considered a bonus.

I wasn’t able to watch the game today. I know 3 bases were stolen off of Montero and the pitcher. How did he appear otherwise defensively?
East Coast Bias
It wasn’t a strong showing defensively, but I think it was more so because of Garcia’s split finger in the dirt. Plus his slow stuff leaves less time for Montero’s throw to reach second base.

I wonder what Mr. Hat has to say about this.

Garrison was sent down, but Mr. Hat and Mr. Stick were not. Awkward.

But, but…the Yankees don’t have a farm system. They buy all their talent! Waaaaaaah
