There’s the most mind blowing news of the day. Next we’ll hear St Louis wants to resign Pujols. Oh wait…..
East Coast Bias
Hopefully Cashman wants to come back. He’s proved how valuable he is to this and any other franchise.
notsureifsrs
ask them for the deal they made you give a-rod
YanksFanSince78
Can he go over his own head?

Alex Rodríguez before the NYY:
0.308 AVG, 34 HR, 99 RBI, 0.382 OBP, 0.581 SLG, 0.273 ISO
Since he joined the NYY:
0.295 AVG, 36 HR, 113 RBI, 0.390 OBP, 0.550 SLG, 0.256 ISO
Since his new contract at the end of 2007:
0.284 AVG, 28 HR, 98 RBI, 0.374 OBP, 0.522 SLG, 0.238 ISO
So… since 2008 he’s basically been like another famous PED user: David Ortíz, whose stat line is:
0.270 AVG, 28 HR, 96 RBI, 0.366 OBP, 0.514 SLG, 0.243 ISO

The cubs will do to the yankees what the yankees did to the redsox in the carl crawford contract last winter, as they will drive cashmans price up and if the yanks dont bite the cubs steal him from the yanks.
East Coast Bias
Yes, hit them where it hurts. Drive up his price from about 2m a year to a whopping 2.3m a year!!! No way the Yankees can afford that.
PS: Carl Crawford literally makes ten times as much as Cashman does.
YanksFanSince78
Maybe they’ll find a way to unload Big Z and up the offer to $2.5 mil?
gunsnascar
whatever guys his pay will definitly increase if the cubs start talking with him. His price wont get too outrageous for the yanks to afford him and I dont expect him to beeline to the cubs but the FACT that the cubs have the opening and the FACT that cashman has been linked to them will increase his annual sallery all it will take is a couple of conversations.
Personally I think he is a good GM but how hard could being a GM for the yankees be with a 200+ million payroll and the winning reputation that they have because of that payroll.
Eastcoast I dont expect his sallery to double but with some competition for his services it will increase but not as much as crawfords contract went up but it will cost the yanks more money for sure.
beisbolista way to blow my words outta proportion.
mikhelb
I don’t see how the Cubs could be able to offer a GM 2 million dollars… plus, yeah, he has a 200+ million payroll, yet this past offseason his biggest (and basically only moves) were for players nobody seemed to want, like Colón and García, and there you have it. Soriano was the BIG acquisition and he spent so much time in the DL that he barely was a factor in the Yankees success this year. The other BIG signing, or re-signing was Jeter and he’s hitting 0.340+ since he came back from the DL in July.
YanksFanSince78
Yeah because Cash probably isn’t already one of the highest paid GM and is just begging to inherent a smoothly operating organization like the Cubs (no offense to Cubbie fans).
gunsnascar
cashman would be a good person to help smooth out that orginization ,we all know that they need all the help that they can get in that and many other departments.
You yanks fans get bitter much about someone else interested in your GM…..GEEZ
Its not like they are trying to steal CC from you oh wait they just may try.
hardcoreforhardcore
I’m so sure Cashman will be chomping at the bit to run from a franchise where he’s overseen 4 world series wins to go clean up Jim Hendry’s mess.
NYPOTENCE
I was hoping Cash would be promoted to a higher job, just to take a look at Oppe’s attack strategy.
Vmmercan
Why the A-Rod contract talk? Cash didn’t negotiate that, it was purely Steinbrenners, just like Soriano.
SixAces
Too bad they can’t just get rid of Levine…
slider32
Cash did a great job molding this team, especially the pitching this year. He will get a new deal with the Yanks and resign CC and sign CJ Wilson.
