I think its kinda messed up that they would implement this immediately. The yshould do it next offseason if they are going to do this because at the trade deadline certain teams didnt make certain moves bc they thought the draft pick compensation would be better. Idk just think they should wait till next offseason to implement any changes

I was thinking very much the same thing. Go into the CBA talks, hammer out a new deal, and make any compensation changes take effect with the NEXT offseason. Making changes that are going to retroactively effect decisions made last June or July just seems really underhanded to me, especially when it is the small and mid market teams that play heavily in those compensation margins in order to continue bringing in affordable talent through strong drafts versus through free agency.
