This is also the list of players not to be considered by AA for the 2012 Blue Jays roster.

Jimmy Rollins is probably the low man on this totem pole so it’s gonna hurt his negotiations most, I don’t know how the Phillies will fit another 8 figure player in their payroll but my guess is he stays.
Garrett Gottschalk
Mark Buehrle?
Fred_G_Sanford
no. you see his name up there boy?
Howard
Nope, and I think AA has to pretty much offer Kelly Johnson a 2 year 16m deal if he even wants to keep him, but we’ll see if he needs him to play 2nd or if theres cheaper internal options.

Don’t you mean “you big dummie”? Stay in character!!!

Phillies look stupid now. Not only did they sign an overrated closer in Papelbon, they also have to give up a draft pick that they wouldn’t have had to give up if they had been patient. Nice job.
RICHARD
In Reply to Camden P: Then do they wait for another team to sign Mads so they could get a BETTER pick? Read your comment over.
FrankTheFunkasaurusRex
Doesn’t change the fact that they gave up their 1st rounder for no reason.

Good think Reyes will still cost a pick. I (and I’m sure many other Patriot fans as well) would have been enraged id we lost him without getting at least a pick back.
FrankTheFunkasaurusRex
Even if he was a modified type A, the Mets could still get a 1st round pick for him, it’s just that the signing team doesn’t lose the pick.
MetsMagic
I didn’t read the whole CBA, so does this mean if he signs with a bottom team like the Marlins we get a first rounder anyway, they just don’t lose theirs?
Camden P
Correct.

Wasn’t it so that the first 16 or so teams that select on the next draft wouldn’t have to give up a draft pick to sign a Type A?
