Hopefully Josh won’t be a thole in the lineup given an increased workload.

I wonder if the Mets have talked to the Cubs about Soto yet? If the Cubs are “blowing it all up” then I would think that Soto would be available for prospects.

Cubs would only deal Soto if they felt Castillo was ready. Not sure what mets have that cubs would want – murphy and parnell are interesting but not prospects. I like Soto but totally understand if hes dealt for pcs we can send to padres to get Rizzo

If you check the Cub’s depth chart, Clevenger is listed but Castillo is not. If you deal Soto then you probably bring in a cheap veteran to compete with Castillo and Clevenger in spring training and keep the veteran to at least be the back up.

where is castillo not listed? Yahoo has castillo not clevenger and cubs site lists both on 40 man roster. Not ahuge deal just curious as I was under the impression that castillo was going into the spring as Sotos backup ( I could be wrong)

The Mets better not screw up the Wright situation like they screwed up the Reyes situation… If David is not going to be here (which given his age and our rebuilding timeframe, he probably won’t be) then we need to get maximum return for him.
PR be damned – no one is excited about this team as it is – keeping Reyes didn’t keep people in the stands last year either… I would argue Mets fans, in general, will be more excited to see the kids play than some sub-.500 team-laden made up of a bunch of players who won’t be here in a few years.
