From 2005-2011, Hairston has played 2.1 innings at 2B, and 0.2 of that came last year. Saying he played 2B is technically accurate, but it’s very misleading. He’s an emergency 2B at best these days.

I agree. It would be like listing Albert Pujols as a shortstop. If you look at Scott’s minor league stats, it further extends the fact that he just can’t play second base. However, for fantasy baseball, I wish they did list him at 2b.

dude is jacked and looks like a ninja turtle .. can hit the ball hard when he makes contact … struggled at times in citi fields dumb right field dimensions but overall a fine re-sign

Good re-signing Sandy.

Still plenty of cushion before the luxury tax kicks in.

Had a feeling he’d be back this year, good re-sign.

Maybe this will keep the Mets from losing 100 in a loaded East division

Really nice re-sign and for cheap. Nowadays, 1.1 million is dare I say, “a steal?” Hit some big bombs for the Mets last year and proved he can handle the “stick”. Good Job Sandy !!!!

Where’s the 4th outfielder that can hit ?? Get Cody Ross now before its too late and we get the cream of the crap again !

Why would you want Cody Ross? For his extra .05 points in batting average? Ross also got paid $6.3M last year and probably wants to be an everyday player while Hairston has no problems and is being paid for what he is – a part time player. We have our starting OFers.

Anyone that watches Scotty H really digs his style as a ballplayer, he might not be a starter but the way he plays the game speaks volumes for him. When he was a Padre you always had a feeling he would do something awesome and in many clutch spots he does. I hope he hits 25 bombs this year and turns into a starter at some point. Scotty H = Good man
