Edwin Jackson is pretty solid but that about it. Good numbers for a #3 man in most rotations. Boras’ asking price is too high IMO.

I hate to be the grammar jerk on this, but on the Duncan line, it should be “Keep HIM and his family in your thoughts.” It’s the object of the sentence, not the subject (which is an implied “you”, since it’s an imperative sentence.
On another note: I’m curious to see how the Cubs rebuild this roster. As a Cardinals fan, I picked on all my Cub fan friends (I live in Central IL, very divided territory between the two) about how awful that contract would look in the last few years, and we’re there now.
They seem to be making some good small acquisitions, like Sonnanstine and resigning Johnson, that could keep the team playing at least at a bad MLB-level (as opposed to the Pirates many of the recent years, which pretty much threw out a AAA team), but they’ve obviously got to figure out where their main production is going to come from in a couple years in order to really get this team competing for the NL Central crown again.
Of course as a Cardinals fan, I’m perfectly fine if they don’t necessarily do that and continue to be bad, but either way, it’s a point of interest for me this off-season (and probably next).

Boras would be an idiot to compare Jackson to Lackey and/or Burnett as those 2 bums are 2 of the worst deals around…
