I find it amazing that they are that close and couldn’t work things out.

Actually they rounded off the numbers…the Pirates wanted to give him $2,249,999.99. The Pirates need to nickel and dime.

This guy deserves a Nickel and a Dime as his contract.

Do you really think they will pay him in all nickels and dimes?

I’ve always liked Jones good versatility, decent pop, some speed, hustle guy. Bye the bye, is the teams winning 4 out of 6 arb cases normal? I mean as far as the teams winning more cases than players?

Is it really worth an arbitration hearing, and the alienation that can occur, over 250k. If I were an MLB team, it would be like me arguing over a 25 cent coupon the cashier won’t accept. If I were the arbitrator I’d award him the 2.5 mi on principal and tell the Pirates to quit being so cheap.

$250 K represents a decent international signing and is way more of what most of you guys here have made in the past 5 years
Mike Adamson
Yea but we’re talking about baseball players and not us.

True… But still 250 K is a decent international signing. Wouldn’t u like the pirates to have an extra pitcher prospect from the Dominican?
