Cleveland Indians, haven’t had an arbitration hearing since 1991.

…Or back-to-back winning seasons since 2000-01.

Yet they have the same number of division titles since then as the tigers, brewers, red sox, reds, mets, etc.

not all divisions are created equal, but yes

I wonder if that guy who plays the drums out in centerfield is arbitration eligible anytime soon?

Extending Cabrera and Masterson should be top priority for Antonetti ASAP. There’s no need for this team to have to rebuild anytime soon.

Don’t disagree really, but can undesrstand why the Tribe hasn’t extended either.
IMO the guy that should be on the list is Carlos Santana. Get him signed long-term while he’s still young and cheap. Kid could possibly be a super two next year (with the new CBA) and you could save yourself MILLIONS plus get him extended past his free agent year. Kid has a great eye and 40 HR power. More valuable long-term than either Masterson or Cabrera IMO.

If Cabrera repeats his 2011 season:
1. The Indians just got a great deal
2. Cabrera will become too expensive to lock up long term.
