Good old Duquette and his tertiary trade discussions. After this offseason I am not sure I want to see him make any more trades.
Jeff 30
As my legal adviser, is tertiary correctly used in this instance? I think not.
Rabbitov
He probably figured out he used it incorrectly and laughed awkwardly.
Then traded Wieters for a backup SS.
Jeff 30
I almost woke up the gf because I laughed so hard when I saw that in my email.
Quizicat
Actually I heard he traded Wieters for a backup catcher.
dylanp5030
Gose is a boss.
Ryan
The Phillies will miss him. Actually, they already do.
dylanp5030
This is true.
The Oswalt trade hurts because it didn’t pan out like it was suppose to. The Pence trade will hurt as well. I didn’t think so at first, but when they managed to get Domingo Santana as well, I was saddened. Hunter is great and all, but I think Santana and Singleton will be nice players. The trade won’t hurt of the Phollies lock Pence up for the next 7 years (this and next year included)
Ryan
A big reason why the price tag for Oswalt was so steep was because of the cash in the trade. The Astros kicked in $11 million in the deal, not sure if that was something they did to get a better prospect, or something the Phillies asked for to get payroll help. Either way, I was fine with that trade. Roy was dominating down the stretch in 2010.
Pence………I just can not justify in my mind giving up the best hitting (Singleton) and pitching (Cosart) prosects for a corner outfielder who has never hit more than 25 HR in any year. Like you, I like Hunter, but Amaro overpaid or over-evalutated the price that needed to be paid, in my opinion.

Maybe Aaron rowand will find a job with the rays?
Jerrymar Torres
didnt Miami pick him up?
Robert_Risteen
Miami released him.
Steve St Pierre
I was thinking Posednik….
Snoochies8
A’s still remain a perfect trading partner for the rays, now even more if they want outfield depth…
joeybw
We also want Kurt Suzuki. Beane and Friedman are too smart not to figure something out.
Snoochies8
i definitely agree, been saying since the summer suzuki would be perfect for the rays, especially with their young staff. only problem now is the catching depth we had in the summer all of a sudden disappeared with the injury to sizemore causing donaldson to shift to third and powell being released. because of that, i’m not AS for a suzuki trade as i was, but i’m not against one at all.

So the Jays minor league team beat Red Sox squad A team? Meh it’s just spring training.
Then Gose curbstomps in 8th inning by stealing 3 bases. Only if 1B could be stolen, he would’ve done that too.
John Bayliss
You can steal first if the 3rd strike bounces in the dirt.
jb226 2
I know the kind of play you’re referring to, but is it actually considered a steal? I thought it was scored as a strikeout plus either a passed ball or wild pitch, depending.
Bombastic_Dave
Home stolen on Saltalamacchia’s toss back to the pitcher. Wish we could have seen it. Amazing.

Just in this is: also reconsidering the trade of Babe Ruth to the Yankees the Red Sox are. Crying into your clam chowder a path to the dark side…meditate Bobby V. must.
