No Kevin Cash comeback now.. Lander is a younger version.. All defense and -0- offense.
Not bad though, just hope your team doesn’t have to depend on him more than oakland did the last couple of years and he can control the running game at least.

I think Pudge would have been a better pickup than this guy. That does not say a whole lot but Pudge’s defense is better and offense is not as bad as this guy’s. I don’t get why someone would pass up on Pudge. I understand Powell will make league minimum and what not, but Pudge is not going to demand millions either.

Minor League depth move. Castro will be the starter and Chris Snyder has been raking this Spring and should be the backup. Powell will likely only see MLB time if there’s an injury.
Kevin Swords
Exactly. GM’s still need to fill out Minor League rosters, and the Astros don’t exactly have much at AAA. All Major League teams need pitching and catching depth throughout the course of a long season.

Cash was a joke on my part.. Understand people like landers will be floating around. though I am not sure he qualifies as the typical retread/AAAA type player at this point of his career.

Cash couldent hit the back side of a barn ! And nor can Powell ! vPudge would have been a much better option.

But Pudge can’t hit either. Powell is at least more capable of putting up better numbers when healthy (which isn’t very much) and at least offers more potential than Pudge at this point.
