I don’t know why Towers is so hesitant to Deal Parra. It looks like several teams are interested in him, and thus we could probably obtain a descent package of players for him. We also have Eaton and Pollock sitting in the wings waiting to make a play at a 4th OF spot. Both players are capable of matching Parra’s offensive and defensive production. Also, I guess that Parra is going to regress quite a lot this season, we might as well trade him when is value is high.

KT isn’t….. he says at every turn that Parra is here to stay.

We’re looking for the other Chris Young in the link section….Which brings me to a good question. Why not trade Chris Young? Yes, he has power, but he is the OF version of Mark Reynolds. Trade him to WSH and keep Parra for CF; he is three years younger, cheaper, a better fielder, and gets on base a lot more.
Why isn’t this atleast being discussed?

Chris Young might be the best defensive outfielder in baseball. Parra is great in left but he is a definite downgrade from Young in center. A fair amount of Parra’s on-base can be attributed to him hitting eighth and being walked to get to the pitcher.

You’re severely underrating Young. He hits for power, draws walks, steals bases, runs the bases well, and is a tremendous fielder. He has been worth 4.6 WAR each of the past 2 seasons.

BY dealing him they would defiantly recieve some good minor league help !

If they were to trade Chris Young, It wouldn’t be for minor league help. The dbacks are in win now mode, All trades will revolve around us trying to make it back to the playoffs this year. This is also why I beleive the dbacks are not going to trade anybody. Their entire 25 man roster is pretty much set, we have not noticeable holes to fill.

Yes young has a good WAR, but the guy strikes out 150+++ times a season !
