From how things went this spring- I guess the braves figured they were better off getting something for him if they were going to try and send him down.
Brv Rocks
He was out of options so they couldn’t send him down without him clearing waivers.
BravesNomad
Didn’t know he was out of options- thanks.

Woo Hoo! Cash. Cash never has an off-day.
Nah, best of luck to Ascenio- he just was the 8th good guy in a bullpen that only needs 7- the Indians got something useful, and I hope he gets a chance.

at first i was like “ummmmm…why?” but then i remembered he’s out of options. I would bet that they’re waiting for the Indians to send him down and try to sneak him him back off of waivers.

wonder how much cash? You never hear, do you?

Boston also sent the Cubbies the PTBNL and don’t get excited Cubbie fans over the name.. Jair Bogaerts.. The Sox #2 prospects *twin* brother…
Edit: Now see the story here..Sorry
sourbob
I was going to say something snarky about Jaramillo and not being good enough to make the Cubs, but when I look things over, both Castillo and Clevenger have looked great this spring, so I guess it’s not an indictment of him at all, really.

Josh Bard.. Well, well, well.. Now THERE is a catcher for some team looking for help.. As long as you only want him to catch and throw the ball. I don’t think he could hit AA pitching.
chico65
Quite frankly, I thought he had retired 5 years ago

“As long as you only want him to catch and throw the ball”
prob is even that is questionable. The Bard should have stuck to writing plays
Ryan Mooney
The phillies are looking for a backup catcher, so why not sign Bard?
