I was just watching the Mets/ Giants game and a few quick comments.
Niese had a bit of a rough patch there, especially with Pagan taking him long.
Also, I am loving the banter between the three tonight they talked about so much during that inning
1.) Pagan’s surprise about being traded (reported here first) and then surprising Niese with the long ball
2.) I think it was Keith Hernandez talking about that inability of today’s player of hitting a sacrafice fly. Here, Here Keith I have been saying (typing) that as of late. The Giants couldn’t execute otherwise it would be bigger than a 3 -0 lead by the Giants. Also, a heck of a scoop by Ike Davis to save Niese.
3.) The also mentioned Nick Johnson and his OBP. He used to be able to do it in his sleep. Emphasis on used. I think someone else on the Mets is struggling just the same as Nick is.
They talked about more, I just can’t remember, but I gotta tell you they are very interesting to listen to and have lots of good information to share. I like them. I wish I found O’s announcers as interesting. Oh well.
PS Zito has looked really good during the start of this season, I hope he can keep it up.

Best broadcasting team in baseball! (Vin Scully does not count)
Infield Fly
Heard them all, have you? :p
Vin Scully is a broadcast team by himself. I’d listen to him over almost anyone else I’ve heard so far – any day.

“Monologue Man” That guy was really good.. Like 20 years ago, but it is painful, even impossible to listen and follow a game with him anymore and always try to listen to opposing team whenever catch a LAD game now.. His voice pitch never changes and hasn’t for years.
It’s one thing for some teams to have extreme homer announcers (Scully is not) then it is another for an announcer to put you to sleep.

Jesus, Tommy John is more popular than… well, Jesus.

Please extend Wright. I dont care if the Mets overpay him. It is still a very small “sample size”, but there is an enormous difference between ’10-’11 Wright and this year. He looks like a completely different player. He is finally using the opposite field again! Outstanding plate discipline so far, line drive machine. I am really loving what I am seeing.

By the way no shock with Herrera and Tommy John. That screwball is his bread and butter. Couldnt imagine that being good at all for the elbow.
lefty177
yeah, screwballs are never good for the elbow, whether you know how to throw it correctly or not

David Wright is not a franchise player.
