Say what you want about Nathan’s absurd two-year contract, but out of most closers that moved this offseason (Madson, Bell, Bailey, Papelbon), his contract seems the safest.

how is his contract safer than madson’s (1/$8.5M) or bailey’s (1/$4.5M)?

Texas’ offseason was as good as LAA in my opinion. They only have one big loss, but replaced that with a pitcher who has looked great. Not to mention, Robbie Ross is looking like a perfect replacement for Oliver. The only downside is that a Hamilton extension couldn’t get done.
