Don’t think that’s gonna help ya Vladdy
Trout Almonte
I’m guessing that Proformance really wanted those advertisement fees, because he might not get another MLB team to sign him.

Hey, I love the name and your icon even more.
Although, I do wish the Orioles and Vlad could work out a deal here.
I am just of the mindset that Wilson Betemit and Nick Johnson are not going to get the job done, then again I could be wrong.
PS I can’t believe Vlad fired Fern, how can you fire someone named Fern?
Draven_X_23
Nick Johnson will be fine for the 100-150 PAs he gets before he hits the DL for the rest of the season. The guy is an OB% machine.
ChipsHips
You can fire a guy named Fern if you hire Bean Stringfellow to replace him. Which Vlad just did.

the white sox should give him shot

I would really love to see this guy get on a team and some playing time. His career lows last year were typically a players career highs. Unfortunately, he’s just one-dimensional in the form of a DH or bench guy. I wonder if he could play a little 1b? Why wouldn’t the M’s want to take a shot on him?
Draven_X_23
Really? If he was a 2B or SS maybe. But a DH with an OPS of .733 (200 points lower then his career) is not a career high for most DHs with almost 600 PAs.
He’s done. Its ok. It happens to every player at some point.

Hit .290, a strikeout every ten AB’s, had 63 rbis…on a team that was aweful…um really. Seriously, you can’t find anything good in him? Also, please reread the comment, I said “a players career highs”…not DH’s highs. If I referred to DH’s I would have mentioned Ibanez and done a cross comparison on why the Yankees should have chosen Vlad over Raul. As for your comment of 200 points lower than his career numbers regarding his .OPS…you are seriously going to compare that stat…he had a sleek 1.074 for a career high OPS.

Because the M’s have Justin Smoak and Miguel Montero.
Derek
Pretty sure the D backs have Miguel Montero
Piccamo
Right. I got my Monteros mixed up. Jesus Montero.

When a team passes you for a Manny Ramirez with a 50 game suspension, it’s time to retire.
Scooby 2
Hope he gets another shot. Vladdy was one of my faces to watch.

I think he’ll play. After all, look around and you see so, so many players who can’t hit breaking balls on ML opening day lineups, and you see managers looking at their feet when said player comes up to bat. His D would be fine if he got some regular game reps, which he did in Texas but not at all in Baltimore. Why not 1B? A platoon there, Smoak may still struggle to hit in Seattle, a lot of teams need better hitting and true leadership. I think he’ll be on a ML roster by April end.
I do wonder why he changed agents, I guess it’s due to the fact that Cuza couldn’t get him a deal; tweeters lie a lot about what he wants. Maybe the new guys are simply more attuned to what to do.
Kjbav1611
He should sign a 3 year deal with the Astros. So they will be set at DH when they transfer to the AL next year.
Double_Up
If he plays 1B, he just needs time to practice again. I wonder if his new agents attracted him by saying they know how to get him back in MLB somehow, or simply that they will work harder and never quit. After all, Vlad is no ‘angry man’ like Dye, Abreau, or Damon have been.
