has anybody thought of replacing John Buck??

Boston has Shoppach, who wouldn’t cost much and is a really good defensive catcher with a good arm, but he isn’t much with the bat.. Ala Buck-ster.. Salty has the power bat and decent glove + arm the Fish need, but he would cost.

Who would the Fish be willing to deal to the Sox for ShopVac? Would the correct pairing for Buck be a “DOH!”?
johnsilver
Nah.. Buck can sit in the Fish dugout and listen to tha oddball guillen’s sick jokes and get over paid.. Shop does a better job.. For 1m mind you.. And actually has decent trade value…

I’d like to see somebody take the 1 and a half years, and nearly 9 million dollars of his contract along with him.

Fish were in too much of a hurry to wait out Baker-Man’s TJ surgery recover, then threw away..What was it? 18m on Buck who had 1 decent year previously and has now regressed to his career norm.
They were better off with Baker and his below average throwing arm, who could at least hit some.

So that is why Beimel sucks? He had a torn elbow ligament for 3-4 years?
