Chad Qualls to the Seattle Mariners in a three way trade w/ the Philies & Yankees would make sense for all three teams. Mariners would acquire Chad Qualls & Jimmy Rollins, Yankees would get Bradon League from the Mariners and Hunter Pence from the Phillies, and Phillies would acquire Chone Figgins from the Mariners; Joba Chamberlin, and couple minor leaguers to work out the multi-trade as these guys can use some change of scenery too.
Joseph Brady
Nah, man. Phillies would never even consider that.

I hope you weren’t intending on being serious with that trade proposal.
LazerTown
Joba’s trade value is very low right now. The yankees would be nuts not to do that but it’s unrealistic. The P’s wouldnt do that, they would need to aquire several top prospects to give up pence, and rollins.

step away from the crack pipe bro.

The Phillies trade Rollins, Qualls, and Pence for an injured Joba and player who has been stealing money. You’re a joke.

No offense, but that might be the dumbest trade I’ve ever heard.

ESPN’s Keith Law must not understand that in order to rebuild a ball club chances have to be taken. Also having read the Doyers were not the high bid suggests other teams were also willing to over pay for the chance this kid has a succeeds. All prospects are risks because as a fan one thing I have learned is there is no “sure” thing in this game so chances must be taken.
monkeydung
all prospects are risks, but most aren’t $42 million risks. Either way, as a Dodgers fan I”m pretty excited about this.
dieharddodgerfan
LOL Keith Law negative towards the Dodgers. Shocker…NOT!

I still don’t understand why the nats moved Bryce off of catcher. A power hitting left handed catcher who can run is the holy Grail for baseball teams. Also why can’t he be te long term answer at center correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t he playing pretty well out there
maristmetsfan
He wouldn’t be a “runner” if they left him crouching behind the plate for a few years. Plus would you want your best hitter taking a collision at home plate? Ask the Giants about that one.
FacelessGeneralManager
And we have or had a ton of catching depth. Plus, Wilson Ramos has the position pretty much locked down. Before injury…. which further makes your point.

Catcher is a dangerous position, and a power leftie bat playing that position one day could be out of the game the next due to any number of injuries that can occur at that position. Ask Posey and Santana, they suffered some pretty bad injuries while donning the tools of ignorance. Luckily, they were able to come back and return to form. Plus, catchers age very poorly, and the Nats want Harper around for a long time.

You would think that he would be the long term answer in centerfield. If you put 2 legit corner outfielders on botg sides of him i would assume that you have the potential to have the most productive outfields in the Bigs. You already have Espinosa/Desmond/Lombardozzi to be your leadoff type hitter, so why do they feel like they need a prototypical centerfielder? Beside Adam Jones, Andrew McCutchen, Matt Kemp, and possibly Mike Trout, I cant think of a better option in centerfield. All of those players including Harper are 5 tool studs. I think the Nats are crazy if you move him to a corner outfield spot.

Vernon Wells for 4 all you eat Dodger Stadium seats. Make it happen JeDi.

For the love of God someone trade the Nationals a ‘traditional’ no power, all speed CF so Mike Rizzo being all OCD and there will no longer be a story EVERY WEEK about it. Pretty sure we’re up to like week 170 of the ‘Great Capitol Centerfielder Hunt’.
MetsEventually
Tough to say who the Mets would send over in exchange…
LEGITFANTASY
i look for the Mets to acquire Lyons and Myers from the Stros. this would fix the bullpen for the Mets…maybe Jenrry Mejia or lower talent like Michael Fulmer or Juan Urbina.
