@ Rays Colored Glasses. No, just no.

Hmmm…where to start.
a) Did the Tigers overpay for Sanchez and Infante? I think so. Turner was their best pitching prospect and with a bloated payroll it would’ve been good to have a cost controlled #2 or #3 type.
b) Rays trading Longoria? Ummmm…..sure….yeah. But of course I say that as a Yankee fan. As just a guy with a brain? Heck no. The Ray’s biggest issue is offense and when healthy, Longoria is one of the best offensive 3b in the game. The fact that he’s signed for just 4/$36 mil there’s no reason to trade him. Even if they were concerned with budget he doesn’t begin to make over $10 mil until 2015 sooo….no.
c) Are the Marlins conducting a fire sale? Maybe not quite yet. Annibal Sanchez was an outgoing soon to be free agent that they may not have been able to resign and Infante was a glorified utility guy. Getting back an mlb ready SP is a smart move. The HanRam deal…….I think it was a bad move and they sold low on a hometown favorite. But he makes a lot of money and he was underachieving. I think it was bad timing. Now..if they trade Johnson, Buerhle, Reyes or Stanton then call it what it is.
d) No way should the Indians consider trading Choo, especially not before this winter. He’s their most solid middle of the order bat, he’s inexpensive and they have some good pieces to work around. I’d rather see them trade Santana before they trade Choo.
e) Not sure if Hamels can be considered Amaro’s best move. He wrote a check and handed out a very large contract. Let’s see how it plays out. We all thought that the Lee contracts was a great move too and here we are 1 1/2 years into the deal and where not sure if it will back fire or not.

Andrew Miller was the Tiger’s top pitching prospect at one point too. Top pitching prospect for the Tigers means nothing. They are notoriously bad at drafting and developing pitching prospects. Can you think of any Tiger’s pitching prospect that ended up being a top of the rotation guy besides Verlander?? Personally I think Smyly has a lot more potential then Turner.

So true, Their was no room for Turner with this rotation at this time since Smyly has shown he has more talent then Turner!
