They are. And, the Weeks demotion was long overdue. But, the really need to improve their infield.

Someone will almost certainly pick up Saunders. I don’t know what his past few starts have been like, but so far this season he looks to be pitching very well. He gets a ton of flak from the saberists but is a pretty consistent back of the rotation guy and his peripherals look to be much improved this year. He always seems to get on a run at some point and lower his ERA.

Do you think someone would give a decent prospect for Saunders?

Fish just hit him for 9 runs in 3+IP with a AAA lineup outside of Stanton, Bonifacio, Lee and Reyes. Saunders really hasn’t turned his 2012 season around all that much from the bad start and whoever gets him (potentially) only has him for a month.
If they even could move him, lucky to get the Generic named, low to no type prospect at best, or organizational filler type player in return.

Any chance Saunders would be a reliever? Cards lefty relievers are pretty terrible. They are the reason our entire bullpen gets a bad rep.

I’d love the Tigers to pick up Joe Saunders, McDonald/Bloomquist, Chris Young and cash for Jhonny Peralta and Rick Porcello. Tigers get a good power/speed guy to put at the bottom of the order, a good Lefthander to put at the back end of the rotation, and improve the defense up the middle and in the OF. I think Chris Young is one of those guys that could definitely benefit from a change of scenery. Porcello too. Diamondbacks get a good deal here
