Pirates free falling for the second straight season after surprising everyone in the 1st half? Who could have seen that coming?
Huntington being fired for the Pirates collapse would be ridiculous. Wanna fire him over long term issues? Thats a different story.

“But you see men on first-and-second and nobody out, and instead of
making sure to get the runner over, you try to hit a three-run homer.” I think he’s talking about Cutch here. Probably not the best move to diss your only good player when your job is (rightly) in jeopardy.

Huntington needs to quit making excuses for EVERYTHING, bad luck, no one wants to trade with us, take action and get the right players at the deadline. No talk about how the bullpen completely fell apart thanks to his moves and how nearly every hitter he’s signed has flopped. Things are better than they’ve been in the past, but there’s still too many problems that need to be fixed.

Neal, do you really believe what you said? Some times friendship clouds judgement.

To go from 16 over from .500 to 2 under is unacceptable. The deals made at the deadline were weak. Hurdle has lost his magic to motivation. Having an end of season collapse is a learning experience, but to do it two years in a row, heads must roll.

“losing masks a lot of very good things”. Interesting….how so?
Matthew K Schnupp
Huntington is a joke. This guy cant recognize hitting talent. All he is doing is trying to retain his job, he isnt taking responsibility for making bad trades or bad free agent signing. He has not once blamed himself but only other people. He doesnt belong as a general manager

Neal is who needs to go. Sure, he never put on a uniform every day or played the game…but that does not mean that his “position” does not have an effect on those that do. If they finish over .500, give him another year. If it’s at or under, find Syd Thrift’s next of kin…
