Bell – he gone

Bell is probably hoping for that

Miami Marlins
Exhibit A on how to not build a winning organization.

“it’s hard to respect a guy that doesn’t tell you the truth or doesn’t tell you face to face”
Take him out Heath, you are big enough to shut him up for good. Adam Dunn wouldn’t, Swisher wouldn’t.. It’s high time someone dot that dolts eyes.
Infield Fly
I would also imagine that it’s hard to respect a guy who does tell you the truth to your face – when it’s done in the typical way that Guillén tends to say things.
Kind of an interesting paradox, no?

LOL. It WAS painful watching Bell close earlier in the season (kind of like watching Aceves attempt it) but anyone that couldn’t tell a guy like Bell that he was awful at closing to his face and would rather do it behind his back??
How is that management? You cannot *manage* a team by running down people thru the media and making your decisions that way. he brought that reputation with him, it didn’t just magically appear from nowhere.
Murderers' Row Boat
Little Known Fact: MLB allows the Marlins to exist as a “do not do” training example for new owners.

As in “Do not” win 2 WS titles in their short (20Y) lifespan? i can come up with a team, currently headed for a PO spot that’s been around a LOOOOT longer that ain’t yet won one and already been thru an owner who was bankrupt and another who thought he was george Steinbrenner part deux (Brad Corbett).

how did everyone else in the world know that Bell sucks and was losing his job but him? We all saw The Franchise…do you want him to write you a personal letter of apology? Man UP Bell! You stink
Cult of Dickie Thon
Guillen could always counter that maybe Bell should try putting down that cheeseburger and actually work out this offseason. Bell is listed officially at 259 and is probably closer to 300 right now.
Bell signed a huge deal, came into camp out of shape and noticeably overweight, and is at an age where he really puts to put in the work in the offseason to stay as a decent reliever.
Let_My_Cameron_Go
Ozzie Guillen has always been overrated as a manager and is probably more of a cancer to a team than a godsend, but Bell has no right to talk. This guy is given more than enough chances by Guillen to close out games, and time-in and time-out Bell stinks the place up. Bell needs to stop begging and stop complaining, and start pitching effectively. Back with the Mets I always felt bad for the guy because that organization jerked him around. All of a sudden, when he gets a chance to pitch regularly in the Majors (yes, he pitched very well in San Diego) he develops such an attitude and an ego. When I heard about, and watched the replay of what he did in the All-Star Game I thought who does this guy think he is. Now, this season he acts like he has entitlements, despite the fact that he has been awful. Removing him from the closer’s role and trading Hanley were the only two things this franchise did this season…

Really wish showtime didn’t ditch out on them early. It would be interesting to watch the franchise right now with all this stuff going on

The Phillies have 5 starters already
1. Hamels
2. Lee
3. Halladay
4. Kendrick
5. Worley
They also have two MLB Ready starters if injuries arise or there’s a double header:
1. Jonathan Pettibone
2. Tyler Cloyd
They also will more than likely have 3 top pitching prospects in AAA next year:
1. Trevor May
2. Ethan Martin
3. Adam Morgan
… they don’t need another starting pitcher given the amount of money 1-3 make unless it’s an absolute bargain.
