Arencibia has7 hrs in 10 games at the ballpark in arlington ill take that chance as a backup catcher

Im not against giving him a shot, i just dont think he is going to see a huge turnaround. He will have some pop but strike out a TON and we will take it as a trade off for a bench bat/back up
But yeah I dont think pudge does hitting, that would be the various hitting instructors jobs

Chris Davis struck out A TON while he was here look what hes doing now.

Davis is a great example of what best case scenario is, but there are way more cases of strikeout guys continuing to strikeout than guys who turn into allstar power hitters who hit for average.
Dustin Bicknell
Davis still struck out 199 times last season and hit 53 homers. People are over dramatic about strikeout numbers the number that should concern you is the number of walks JP has which are very few. I dont really care how he gets outs, but you can strike out 200 times a years and still be a stud. Another example of this would be Adam Dunn

Why dont you check out there statistics in the minors compared to each other and see my point

I understand but the 3+ years in the majors clearly define him as a strikeout guy. Im not saying he might bust out of it, but most dont suddenly flip a switch at age 28 and stop striking out.

Is this the official term for a player that hits 20+ HRs and finishes with an OPS under .600?

He is not going to hit for average so go to a place that he can hit some bombs…smart move by JP!
Steven Russell
I agree, he sure does have a way with those timely/clutch hits. He’s always had big upside but hasn’t realized yet, I’ll be rooting for him.
