I love Morrison and his potential. He would be, in my opinion the best option to bat 4th, after McCutchen for the Pirates. He has plenty of power with the short porch in right field and will drive in a ton of RBI with Marte, Walker, McCutchen, and Polanco at some point, in front of him. I could see maybe a .270/.330/.450 with 25 HR and 90 RBI from him. I think the Pirates would rather have Loney. A similar contract to Russell Martin should be able to get him, and the Marlins would want Relief Pitching and a Third Baseman for Morrison. Probably Justin Wilson and someone like Wyatt Mathisen (who can move to third due to injury and depth in the organization) or Stetson Allie. I do not think the Marlins would take that deal, making Loney the fit on Pittsburgh.

I’d be fine with a LoMo to Pirates deal, but only as a bench player. Not sure I feel comfortable with him as a starter. Maybe as a platoon at first with Gaby…maybe
