Great to hear. He seemed genuinely surprised and heartbroken when he was fired in August. It would have been terrible for that to have been the end of his time with the organization.

It seems that adding age remains a priority for Amaro

Firstly, such a tired joke. Second, it was David Montgomery’s decision.

The youth movement continues!!! They should try to pry Don Zimmer away from the Rays.

I would have liked to see Charlie Manuel take over for Chris Wheeler or gary Matthew doing the broadcast.

I’m super biased as a Mets fan (and from being spoiled by GKR), but I’ve had to watch a few Mets-Phillies games on the Philly broadcast, and boy is Gary Matthews unbearable to listen to.
jeffm
He is. I’ve stopped listening to the broadcasts anyway. I generally listen to music while watching the games.

Most Phillies fans would completely agree that the broadcast booth of T-Mac, Chris Wheeler and Gary Matthews was unbearable at best.

It’s what they did with Dallas Green. His job will be to sit there, watch games, comment on players. Probably will have little to no effect on personnel decisions.
jeffm
Sign me up for that job.
Phillyfan425
Agreed. Only requirement – you need to have been a manager for the Phillies when they won the WS.
jeffm
I’ll figure something out. There is dirt to be found. It’s the only way Mayberry and Mini Mart could’ve been around for so long.

With Charle Manuel, Dallas Green and Chris Wheeler giving advice, I dont see how they Phillies can fail in 2014.
