Marrero, Axelrod, Omogrosso . . . the White Sox continue to announce signings of players I thought were already on their team. These must be the dogs days of the hot stove season.
mattfromchicago
Axelrod and Omogrosso were released from the Sox’s MLB-roster earlier this off-season but neither apparently found more lucrative offers elsewhere and are being resigned to MiLB deals so they can add organizational depth without cluttering up the 40-man roster.

Yup. Like a bad cold that just won’t go away.

Omogrosso was HORRIBLE for the Sox and never seemed to figure it out. Not sure why they are bringing him back when there were better options available for the bullpen

His name is Bond, Brock Bond. Fun name aside, he should be ready to mash in 2014 given his BA’s the last three years: .246, .332, .240.

Was looking over his numbers and he had some of his best numbers in the 2y played at pitcher oriented leagues and worst years where hitters are heavily tilted, except 1 lone season in the PCL in 2012.
Is he a slap hitting prospect at all who gets on base via walk or not with numbers that seem to change like that in what seem to be the wrong leagues.

That Luis Vizcaino re-emergence story doesn’t sound suspicious at all. Pitcher washes out with a serious injury and PED issues, then comes back 5 years later at the ripe age of 38 throwing peas. Mmhmm.

Hello author, thanks for your information but Vizcaino is 39 now,not 38

Second,Vizcaino also played in the Uni-President Lions in Taiwan last year.He posted a 18SO 3BB 0W2L6SV 1.227ERA in 14.2IP record. And he played in the champion series,3.2IP ERA0 1W3SV,help the Lions win the champion!!

I had to read this article, just to make sure we were talking about the same Luis Vizcaino. Seeing his name makes me think of the scene from Major League:
“This guy’s dead!”
“Well, cross him off!”
Talk about a name we haven’t heard in awhile…
