why? AAA depth?
DandyKoufax
Hill’s last two cameos in the Show were with the Jays, actually.
Maybe they think third try’s a charm?
JaysFan1996
I think they are gonna use him in the two exhibition games they play in Montreal since he was an Expo and all
Torontopoly
Oh dear lord. Enough with the AAA talent already. Buffalo is going to have a salary bigger than the Houston Astros once the final roster adjustments are made.

Suddenly Bedard looks like Bob Gibson eh?
John Kreese
Compared to Blake Beavan he’s not looking too bad…

Now Wolf doesn’t make the team?!
westcoastwhitesox
Does a ’45-day advance consent release’ mean Wolf made the team but they already know they will probably cut him after the first month?
Hills of Glenallen
Sounds like that’s exactly what it meant. “We want to use you until Iwakuma is ready, then cut you.” To which Wolf said “I’m no boy toy, you can’t use me, man!” or something like that…

One would think that Wolfie would realize that guys like Garcia, Bedard are floating around and he’s no better than they are. At least he got offered a 30-45 day job at some kind of MLB pay.. They didn’t. Is he going to start playing that musical chairs game again?
Lefebvre Believer
Well, Beaven and Elias it is then! Save McClendon some decision making. Vegas has set the over/under on the number of HRs Beaven gives up before losing his spot in the rotation at 10.

I’m starting to think Ichiro. He’s always wanted to pitch and the Yankees will pay most of his salary. Give the Yankees back Noesi.
Lefebvre Believer
If Ichiro came back to Seattle to pitch Rick Rizzs would be doing cartwheels.
Taylor Hope
Oh, perfect. Wolf saved us M’s fans from plenty of agony watching him pitch.

What is a 45 day advance consent release?
I’m astonished they let Wolf go, he had a great spring and with Hisashi out, they sure need him.

4.25 ERA, 3.4 BB/9 and 4.3 SO/9 is great? Let’s not forget the 6 HRs he gave up in 19 innings. Would rather see Elias get a chance. Beaven will be optioned the second Walker comes off the DL.

It means at 45 days they can reevaluate his contract so essentially it was only a 45 day contract. Normally it’s in place for players coming off of injury/surgery as he did last season.

Adam Moore .513 OPS…how much cash is that worth? Any minor league catcher is a better option.
blahdu
My guess is that its because Rene Rivera is out of options and Yaz looks ready enough to at least share duties w Hundley @ backstop from opening day until he’s ready and healthy enough to be back as the Friars starter. At which point Rivera will have to pass through waivers and will be either traded or at the very least claimed by another club as he is a v. servicable backup. Pads are low on upper minor catching depth, so they probably handed over $50K for insurance purposes. Not to mention, the most important thing for catching depth is their defensive abilities, not their OPS from 2010.
