Cutter Dykstra was an acquisition in a really minor trade for the Nats several years ago, one that seemed more of a curiosity than a real move for the future. That is how it played out for several years, but he has blossomed. I don’t know if he is a real prospect now, but his advancement was enough that I am pleased to know that the Nats retained him. Perhaps he never plays for the big club, but it would be great if he at least can be part of another trade.

Nyjer Morgan for Cutter Dykstra? I think the Nats got the better end of that deal. In Harrisburg he was one of their top players and hitters this season. Have to assume he gets promoted to Syracuse.

Cutter Dykstra is a non-prospect, organizational depth kind of guy. While it is impossible to lose any trade that involves Nyjer Morgan (which says more about Morgan than it does about the other player), Dykstra is simply a good minor league player and that is about it.

Add cutter to the mets. A great combo with wright and dykstra in the the double play infield. Maybe trade daniel murphy for cutter and roark. He’s ready for 2b. 86 mets are alive and well!
