So then that debunks the idea that someone said the Phillies asking price for hamels never went down cause he had 2 bad starts. Of course his price wouldn’t go down if no one has called about him. ( and his value shouldn’t be hurt by performance in April.)

This guy writes about Hamels to the Red Sox every week
Draven Moss
Cafardo has a man-crush on Hamels. This has been established for quite some time now.
Matt St.
I it really a man-crush. I was under the impression that he believed the Red Sox needed to acquire an ace and that he was focusing on Hamels because he is the one most available right now.
Draven Moss
Yes. That is true, but the man covers him every single week, when there is literally nothing to report about him. We all know Hamels is available, and we all highly doubt people have made calls on him this early in the season, so I see no need to state the obvious. Cafardo wants Hamels to the a Red Sox as much as anyone.

So basically, other teams are watching from a distance to see how Hamels’ season unwinds and evaluating their own staff’s performance before pursuing further talks of a trade. Makes sense.

There is a reason why so few trades happen in April.
