Tommets
Bridich should be open to trading Tulo right now. Mets gotta be ready to change some offense, I know I am at least. I’d give up Matz, Montero, Herrera/Plawecki, and Molina at the most.
Rob Schumann
That seems like a fair package if Colorado would be willing to pick up some salary.. I would like to see the Mets go after a couple of lesser pieces though instead of one big one. Maybe Zobrist (when he returns) and Reddick from the A’s or Byrd and Cozart from the Reds..

Those Five plus One more Junk piece .

So drain the system for a guy that is injury prone, has a huge contract, and is off to a bad start this season? WUT.

He is not worth that package at all….we need several lesser name players that will hit for a decent average instead of one big player.
Rob Schumann
Bowden must have read this thread today. He recommended almost this exact trade with Colorado picking up $25 – $30 million of Tulo’s salary.

I thought all major trades and expensive signings were done by Dick Monfort not Bridich.. At least that was how the Rockies stated things when they chose not to replace Keli McGregor when he passed.. I will believe a Tulo rumor when Monfort decides to weigh in..

FWIW, any club is going to have a significant ownership role in a decision like this. Obviously, some GMs will have more sway and independence than others, and some owners are more active than others, but there’s no exec in baseball who is calling up the owner to inform him that the team’s franchise player has been dealt.

Bridich also noted that he believes reports are tied to the club’s overall struggles.
There struggles are directly tied to the fact that they don’t play well as a team for whatever reason. Although, I did see CarGo helped them beat the Dodgers the other day with a three run home-run, which I thought was really spiffy.

He was just pulled from tonights game. Any info?

Well Tulo isn’t going anywhere now, looks like another DL stint he left the game hurt again

big losing streak his trade me efforts not working. Looks like time to quit on the year once again for the fake superstar

Colorado needs to be smart about this. They should pull a mike Richards/jeff carter trade-a-polloza like the Philadelphia Flyers did a few years back. Once one of the Tulo/cargo trades hits the news, the price of the other will drop bc other teams will realize colorados gameplan. Will it shock the fan base, of course. It’s terms of the pain felt, I think it’s better to have a bone break in two places than have the bone break, heal a bit, then break again.

You would think the fans will be ok. They are a terrible team with him so maybe get something worth while and move on.
Jeffrey Toman
I completely agree with you in that they need to get something and move on. Is they go the flyers route, they can maximize their return and minimize the impact on the fan base.
It also provides the gm with a bit of wiggle room. As a flyers fan, I don’t always remember which players came back to philly in the Richards trade and which resulted from the carter trade, but I always remember the players that became flyers as a result of those two trades. (And if you don’t factor the bryz singing into the equation…it turned out as a pretty solid deal)

I think that if Tulo is going traded, he would be traded after this season at the winter meetings, for the sole reason that he would garner 10-and-5 rights late next season. Otherwise, I see him being a lifer in Colorado.
