I just looked at Josh Donaldson’s away OPS: .703. Combine that with his career OPS at Oakland of .772 and I’m starting to think that trade isn’t terrible at all. Simply put: Donaldson would not have the same slash line he has now, had he stayed in Oakland. He’d probably be sub-.800, which is good but having an ever-improving-by-the-day Brett Lawrie and Graveman, as well as Nolin and Barreto, this trade looks like it will be a win for both sides, as long as the Jays don’t get a new stadium 🙂
BTW since returning from the minors -cherrypicking I know, but he really was out of sorts before going down to AAA and has come back all guns blazing like a totally different pitcher – Graveman has had 8 GS, 53 IP and a 2.01 ERA. Not counting his bad first month, he even has a 3.77 FIP, no Jays starter has that low a FIP. Looks like Beane got a gem of a guy in Kendall Graveman.

The Orioles are having enough trouble finding playing time for Young and Reimold…. I am not sure why they would want another RH corner outfielder who isn’t a definite improvement
