I can get behind a team of McPhail, Gillick, Amaro
Dock_Elvis
I can get behind a team of McPhail and Gillick buying Amaro a bus ticket. If they want a bobo in the role…they can hire one with better pr skills.

1 out of 3 ain’t bad.

Would have preferred a younger, newer generation type of decision maker but I’m just happy they’re doing this now and giving him time to properly assess the current manager/GM/team rather than waiting til after the season. Even though it should be very easy decisions on the GM and manager. Glad he’ll also have a say on any trades presuming he gets hired soon and before the deadline.

We’ll have to see how it all plays out. Having McPhail and Gillick in an advisory role is good….but it’d also be good if they let Amaro go and bring in the younger voice like you’re suggesting.
flyerzfan12
that’s exactly what I’m hoping for now. MacPhail as President, Gillick as an advisor, and a new, young GM brought in to replace Ruben.

Dont really care about younger. I want the GM to be smarter. But then, Ruben has not that high a bar.
In fact, having no GM whatsoever, would be an upgrade over Ruben.
Dock_Elvis
I think by “younger” flyerfan12 and I are both basically referring to thought process more than age. MacPhail and Gillick are excellent old school leaders…and it’d be good so see them fleshed out with their own version of Friedman/Daniels.
