Well, this is incredibly unexciting, but I guess considering it’s a minor league deal, it’s hard to care too much about this
Joseph Gonzalez
If he gets his walk rate down while maintaining his k/BB ratio and his almost 50% gb rate he could be a great find
East Coast Bias
You mean if he pitches better, he will be a better pitcher?
Joseph Gonzalez
Well of course lol. I’m just stating that his huge walk rate seems to be his main problem. We all saw what happened to carlos marmol when his really high BB rate caught up to him

The Dodgers’ coaching staff is as good as any in baseball, but they could not cure his wildness.
Joseph Gonzalez
Can the dodgers fix esmil Rogers ? I would love for la to take him off our hands ^_^

This is the kind of incremental moves that a good manager makes during the season. It doesn’t necessarily excite the casual fan but it can pay off if the player is brought up for a few games to fill a gap and contributes to a win or two or helps avoid a loss. Even the worst team will win about 60 games and even the best team will lose about 60. It’s what happens in those 40 games that are up for grabs that determines who goes to the playoffs and beyond. Little player moves like this can be important and every manager tries to have a few guys like this for the right occasions.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I know this, I’m definitely not mad or anything! Cashman also has Bailey stashed in the minors for the same type of reason, it’s a smart “catch lightning in a bottle” move for sure. It’s just unexciting in the sense that they “need” a RHRP and this doesn’t answer that need immediately. None the less, I won’t be complaining about this

Righty bull-pen arm …good move…

Wonder if we should call him a ROOGY.

going to be tough beating out Burawa, Ramirez, Rumbelow (all righties pitching well in AAA)
