It’s sad. It really looked like Snider was finally ready to break out last season. Just another reminder that not every top prospect pans out.
Huntington did a good job selling high on him this winter.

His salary would only be prorated of the league minimum with the Orioles on the hook for the rest..

That’s the case only if he clears waivers, is released and signs a new deal with a new team. If he gets claimed, the new team assumes his whole remaining salary, the prorated portion left

I found this article on Camden Chat describing his swing and some holes in it, anyway, his struggles this season are mechanical and what is being said here is that a coaching staff should be able to help fix it. Cleveland or Pitt, as said by Piratefan22, could be beneficial to both parties due to the necessary playing time in order to work on modifications on his swing.

I wish the Braves could take a shot on Snider. He’s still young and they need bats. Low risk, potential decent return.

With today’s trade, they don’t have room for him. Maybin. Markakis Bourn, swisher, Gomes and Eury Perez will be scuffling for playing time already. I do see your point though

Pirates go get him! He flourished as a big part of their clubhouse, and would be a great 4th OF/better bench bat than Ishikawa
