Stonehands
Imagine a next signing of Dombrowski. This could make up for a very experienced front office
Rally Weimaraner
There are a lot of GM opening this year, I think both Dipoto and Dombrowski will be GM’s again before the starts of the 2016 season.
Stonehands
DD to a presidents position and give Dipoto some pointless title that is above Cherington and you all of a sudden have a trade expert as well as a great foundation for talent evaluation and player development
thecoffinnail
I don’t think Cherington would be able to hire his own boss..
Cam
Too many cooks in the kitchen.
Rally Weimaraner
Dipoto was the best GM the Angels have had, good move by the Red Sox
Niekro
Bill Stoneman and his Ring might disagree with that statement
Rally Weimaraner
Rings don’t make good GM’s. Dipoto managed to rebuild the Angels pitching staff in 2 years which was a major achievement.
steveletts
World Series wins don’t make good GM’s….really???
steveletts
World Series wins don’t make good GM’s? Really?
Rally Weimaraner
1 world series win in 8 years does not make a GM good
Vandals Took The Handles
Rings don’t matter? Wins don’t matter?
Rally Weimaraner
Sure they do, wins just aren’t the only measure of success.
The Marlins have won 2 championships under Jeff Loria’s ownership, does that make Loria a better owner than Arte Moreno, Mark Walter/Magic Johnson or Thomas Ricketts?
Dock_Elvis
I don’t believe that Loria owned the team when the Marlins won in 1997..I believe he was still in the process of looking for a team prior to purchasing the Expos. He skirts in under owning the team after that switch MLB did between Montreal-Florida-Boston ownsership
Cam
Re-read what he said.
davbee
Damn. I was hoping he’d end up with the Brewers.
Silab
John Hart has done a pretty great job rebuilding that organization. Not sure why you’d want change so fast? Not a fan of the Alex Wood deal, but just about every other deal the guy has made has made sense.
Stonehands
He said Brewers. Not Braves
john59
Hopefully he is interim until Cherington finds another job.
Vandals Took The Handles
A perfect organization for him to work for.
dmm1047
Boston sports media people say it won’t be Dombrowski. He’ll want complete power and the Sox aren’t likely to give it. Look for him to go to Toronto.
Draven Moss
Dombrowski is very old-school too which might scare Boston off. However, the difference in approach between him and Cherington could make a good duo if they could work well together.
mwk89
Given his sabermetrics background, would make more sense if he ends up staying long term than dombrowski
