He probably won’t, but Jeff Samardzija should consider signing QO at 16 mill for 1 year. Could rebuild his value just from betting on himself to have a better year.

Braves need to be all over Samarj and Ozuna.

braves already have enough rookie struggling pitchers. they dont need a veteran to show them how to struggle.

Iwakuma is my hedge pick as comeback player of the year for 2016. Nasty splitter, decent slider and just enough fb to get by hitters looking for the splitter. Great command of all.
I don’t blame Seattle for wanting to keep the 35yo next year.

If the Giants offer Lincecum anything more than a minor league deal with an invite to camp I’m burning all my Giants gear and becoming an A’s fan. I love the guy but you cannot continue to make baseball decisions with your heart instead of your head. That lesson should have been learned two years and 35 million dollars ago.

Just wait. They absolutely will re-sign him to a Major League deal and probably for even more than league minimum. This is a team that doesn’t like letting go of their hometown heroes.

Samardjiza should have accepted that deal the Cubs gave him. He’s bound to make less than that offer.

I was thinking that Marcell Ozuna for Chris Heston would be a win-win trade for the Giants and Marlins? Any comments?
JoeyPankake
I was thinking the same thing the other day.
RedRooster
I think that Samardzija should accept the QO. No one is going to give up $50m+ and a first rounder in order to sign a guy with a 5.27 ERA. Especially not with this year’s loaded free agent pitching class.

Why would the white sox offer him a QO?
RedRooster
They have already said they will

The risk in signing Samardzjia is that he’s never going to be able to harness all those good qualities that scouts see into actual performance on the field. If he “blows away” 4/55 that’s a lot of money to spend on someone who lacks consistency–and give up the draft pick.
