Cespedes would be a tremendous fit in SF. While the surge of power out of no where could be a nice addition if he maintains it, his main value is his ability to hit doubles and in his arm, both of which are huge advantages playing in AT&T park. The upside is hard to ignore. If healthy, it would be like adding another Hunter Pence to the outfield, with more power potential. This is the Left Fielder that the Giants have been looking for since 2007. They’ll have to pay the price to get him, but he’d fit nicely and lock up a pretty solid team for the next 3-5 years.

Maybe, but I suspect the asking price will be too high. Pretty sure the Giants won’t be willing to give him six years.
They just need a clear #2 starter and some better luck health-wise. Another OF and another reliever would be icing on the cake.

Seems hard to see any NL team (with no DH) willing to go 6 or 7. I remember the article stating he wanted “at least” 6 years. I can see an AL team going 7 to get him and planning for the 6-7 or even 5-7 years being DH years.

Whoever signs Cespedes for 6+ years will regret it. Love the guy, but I wouldn’t do it.
