I’m not sure whats more confusing, why Capuano keeps staying with the Yankees, or why the Yankees keep bringing him back. That 5.45 ERA in 100 IP with the Yankees can’t be appealing.

I have a good feeling he stays with the Yankees knowing he could be called up again later on as shown

He’s stayed with the Yankees because he knows it likely means another MLB opportunity at some point, which he may not have as much luck with elsewhere. The Yankees keep bringing him back because using him in a mop-up role to adsorb innings is better and makes more sense than doing so with a young arm in the system. It’s just sort of worked for both parties.

How can Kintzler and Guilmet be outrighted to Triple A when they both have been in Triple A for close to a month ( and in Kintzler’s case more then a month ). I think you ment to say that they were outrighted off the 40 man roster ?
Jeff Todd
Well, really, the phrase “outrighted to Triple-A” is kind of a shorthand anyway. Regardless whether the player has been in the minors or the majors, they would be outrighted off the 40-man roster and their contract assigned to whatever MiLB club. (Otherwise, players on the 40-man who are playing in the minors are said to be on optional assignment.)
But that somewhat sloppy phrasing is rather exposed here, as you rightly point out. I’ll edit.

The Yankees had better have promised Capuano a coaching position when he retires, or a date with Lindsay Lohan……
