Thoughts on leonys Martin? What’s likely to happen to him? He doesn’t have much trade value because he did not see a lot of action last year, but I don’t really wants he rangers to non-tender him.

Raul Ibanez would be a great addition to the Mariners coaching staff!

I know this isn’t very scientific but he just *seems* like he’d be a good coach somewhere. Anyone who’s played in the majors consistently is knowledgable, but he seems like a pretty good communicator on top of that.

I will be looking forward to see how Mr. Eppler can rebuild the front office as well as make some changes to team.

Astros need to drop carter and go after a better 1st baseman. ..

Astro’s will hold Chris Carter for 1 more year as they have a hitting machine in AJ Reed,(Minor League hitter of the year) hitting .340 34 HR & 127 RBI’s last year to lead the Minors.
Carter has had 2 terrible first half’s but can be flat out devestating when he is on. Astro’s will pray he can have a big first half and then be dealt for high value and that AJ Reed continues to kill the ball in the Minors to take his place long term very soon.
Raul Ibanez as a coach… I personally don’t like the fact that he jams 12 pounds of chewing tobacco under his lip. It should be outlawed in the game… just as smoking was many years ago. Bad image for a manager to ‘dip’.

It should be interesting to see what they do with Jon Singleton, he’s still very young and still has potential to turn into a legitimate power threat. I picture Reed eventually taking over first but I hope they use singleton enough to give him value by the trade deadline

Why would Castro and Carter be due significant raises? Don’t they actually deserve a pay cut?
mattdsmith
He didn’t say significant raises, but with the arbitration model, pay cuts are really rare.
