Won’t happen for a lot of reasons, but I’d love to see him in Pittsburgh.

How bad Bailey’s contract looks now

It was horrible before the Ink was dry. I’ll never understand what Jocketty was thinking.

The same thing he was thinking when he gave Votto 10/225 thru age 41, nothing.
Houcorrea
Hey but he made 2 men millionaires at his teams expense. Lol

Most players when entering Free Agency are nearing the decline phase of their careers at age 30,31,32,33. Those players typically pay off at the onset of their new deal and look way overpaid at the end.
Leake entering his age 28 season will hopefully maintain his peak throughout the entire contract, and General Managers know that.
I’d peg him at right around the above prediction.
5 years @ ~ 15 Mil per and a 6th year team option @ ~ 16.5 Mil w/ a ~ 7.5 Mil buyout. The team option would cover his age 33 season, the beginning year of a contract for the typical free agent. He should be a solid 2 WAR a year #3 starter for some team the next half decade or so.

The Twins could definitely use him in the rotation from a performance standpoint, but logistically I don’t think it’s going to happen. Not with Nolasco on the roster, Gibson, Hughes, and Santana locks for the rotation. Milone and May both got booted from the rotation at times more because of the logjam than their performance. And Duffey had a great debut.
It’s just hard to say the Twins should tie down their entire rotation by adding another FA starter.

Leake would be a great signing for Atlanta.
