Wieters would be a tough decision, but with Boras as his agent, it’s a no brainer.

I would love to see Davis back but with the sizable contract that will be required to sign him will be out of the reach. Question, resign Davis or try and sign Price?
If not Price how about grenkie?(if he ops out of his contract.)
I say resign o’day, resign Davis and parra. Offer a 1 year contract to Pearce. Also offer a 1 year contract to weiters so he can recover from last years bad year. Give QO to weiters (if it’s an option) and Chen. Go after a quality pitcher that will settle for a 3 or 4 year offer

Have to include Wieters for a QO, their are far worse things than him accepting. I expect the Os will make a token 120 million offer for Davis but it isn’t close enough to get it done. I expect a combination of Mike Pelfrey and Latos along with resigning Parra then hear all about how big Pelf was the opening day starter for the Mets once.

Not offering Wieters the QO is insane. One, he’s a Boras client who isn’t likely to rock the boat by taking the offer. He’s got to reject the QO to get to the open market of free agency and there’s no way he just takes the money and sits out the possible bidding process. Two, he’s the only front-line starting catcher hitting the open market. That alone makes him a target for at least three or four teams who would like to lock up the position for the next four years at a minimum. Finally, even if he takes the QO you’ve got a motivated, gold glove winning catcher trying to boost his value for a monster deal the following season. If he stays healthy that’s a win-win for both sides.d Make the QO. Take the compensatory pick.

Time for Buck Rogers to go. O’s fans have another Scoscia on their hands. His ego is way too big. DD wanted to join the jays just to get away from him.
