Cmon braves… Braves need a something to be excited about. Wonder what the expected price tag will be?

Read somewhere that it would probably be somewhere in the vicinity of 4yrs & $80M (including posting fee). So take away the $20M posting fee which, to my knowledge, doesn’t count towards the salary cap, and it would be a 4yr $ 60M investment in him. I would take that. Hwang is exactly the type of guy we need right now. He hits for power, has good speed and is a solid on offense. Not sure about defense because I can’t see much of the stats there but I have to believe he is at least average on defense.
Apparently he is in a hitter friendly environment. I would be interested in knowing what the differences are. If it is like going from Colorado to the east coast then I’m okay with that. Sign him up!

No way it’s that much. Kang cost the Pirates $16 million including the posting fee and he’s a much better player than Hwang.
While the Pirates were pioneers in signing a top KBO player and the price for Hwang could be higher than Kang, I would expect the cost including the posting fee to be about $20-$25 million.
4yr, $60 million is Jose Abreu money. I could see the White Sox going after him but they wouldn’t pay half that much.

White Sox pony up and go sign him, should be rather affordable and still relatively young.
YouGottaBeBleeepinMe
I’d take him in a White Sox uniform!
jonathanh1020
I rather have David fresse over him as a braves fan
rg1307
White Sox better be all over this, could probably get him relatively cheap compared to everything else on the market, and he’s still pretty young too.

Would he be a fit with the Phillies?
PCOLA SOX FAN
I would rather see the CWS get Lowrie at 3b from Oakland
rayrayner
Yes, Lawrie has proven success, is two years younger and is two years from free agency. Only problem is Sox don’t have much to trade.
I think Hwang is probably as good as Olt. At least Olt would be making the minimum if he starts at 3B.

Come on CLE. Get in there.

Posting fee shouldn’t be more than $5m
