Red Sox will end up with Carrasco or Salazar form Cleveland.

I’m more betting on Tyson Ross but holding out hope that Sonny Gray will be available.

as a padres fan i hope they don’t get rid of ross but if they do to the redsox they should get some valuable pieces from them

You never know with Billy Beane. He did it with Donaldson

I think the Red Sox and Braves would line up well for a trade of Shelby Miller or Julio Teheran. Both have TOR quality; Miller will be hitting free agency right around when the Braves are aiming to contend, and Teheran has reportedly had some issues with McDowell. With the Red Sox surplus of young catchers and outfielders, seems like a solid match.

DD will not be looking for *potential* TOR arms, he is looking for a TOR arm that has been to the top of the mountain. Whether that be Price, Greinke, Cueto or Harvey, Gray, Sale, or any other proven ace that may appear on the block. Ideally, BOS should trade prospects for an ace and sign a #2, or vice versa, and trade Miley, Buccholz, or whoever holds enough value to go out and get legit bullpen pieces

The Phillies should go hard after Heyward, as he is only 26 years old and would be a big piece of the Phillies rebuild. They can offer him a 10 year deal with an opt out after the 4th year. His offense would thrive in CBP and if/when he opts out at just age 30, his numbers should be better than almost any other team that may be going for him. Phillies can certainly offer the most years and money…
As for Pitching, they will go after 1 year deals with the hope to flip them at the deadline – Pitchers such as Latos – Fister – Norris – Cahill and perhaps go after a #1 starter like Kazmir or Zimmermann.
Perhaps J.A. Happ would welcome a return back to Philly as well.
The Phillies went 34-37 in the second half last year, even despite having Pitchers Harang, Williams, Asher, Buchanan, and Reliever De Fratus going a combined 5-20 with a combined ERA of well over 6.00
Phillies adding Heyward would be a huge addition and worth the Price.
Out of place Met fan
CBP isn’t exactly the ideal place to build value

The only thing about adding Heyward is that it makes an already-crowded OF picture even more so. Most of the Phillies’ better upper-minors prospects (and rookies) are outfielders, and a number of those that aren’t profile as getting moved there eventually. 2B, 1B, SP and maybe C (they have a lot of premium catching prospects, but they all have either offensive or defensive deficiencies at this point) all would seem be bigger areas of need for the team’s future at this point.
Honestly, given the plethora of TOR arms on the market this year, including at least 2 without QOs, I think it makes more sense to go in on an ace pitcher to supplement the Nola/Eickhoff/everybody-else rotation they have as of now (with another middling guy on a 1-to-2-year, or maybe 1+1, deal). Especially when considering how barren the TOR FA market is going to look next year and the year after.

I would think the Cubs would go after crosstown ace Chris Sale. Team friendly contract , youth and great stuff. I’m guessing it would take Baez Russell and a top minor league arm to get him. Cubs could turn around and get Maddon fave Zobrist stick w Castro at short and have a World Series team
