I saw him play while on vacation in Korea in May and was lucky enough to see him hit a home run. Although the KBO ballparks and pitchers are notoriously hitter-friendly I think we’ll see him in MLB next year.

I have liked Park for awhile, so, this is exciting news. Being biased, I want the the tribe to bid on him but I also think he would be a great fit. We sure need the offensive help. He only plays Dh or 1b (and not really great over there), so I wonder if they did get him, what would become of Carlos Santana? .. trade bait, maybe? Doesn’t make since to add power to get rid of some, though.. Roll Tribe.

I know its tough to predict, what does anyone think the winning bid will be? somewhere in the 7-10 mil range?
Richdanna
I think that if he signs for $7-10M, the signing team will be dancing with joy…

I’m pretty sure he was suggesting that as the posting fee, not the contract amount.

Orioles need to be all over this.

I agree but coming from a Jays fan, i hope the orioles don’t

I don’t know a lot about him, but from what I read sounds like he is best suited for an AL club with DH

Really sick of hearing the phrase “how his bat will translate” in regards to Cuban, Japanese and Korean players, with the Pirates making Kang earn a spot that even hurt their team a bit being the most obvious example.
They’re the same as American players, some will be stars and some won’t. But at this point, if they are destroying their overseas leagues then they are borderline odds-on favorites to be great MLB players.

The Pirates slowly bringing Kang along to more playing time was likely a big reason why he had so much success.

I want Mr. Park in Boston please !!!
Eric D.
I think the most money spent will be on an ace and revamping the bullpen. I agree it’d be nice to have another power bat in the lineup but I believe Boston’s plan is to convert Hanley Ramirez to first place. If Boston spends money on a bat it will most likely be an outfielder, I am crossing my fingers for Heyward.

Is it greedy to hope he ends in Pittsburgh too?
bucsnation
Why not just sign him in Pittsburgh too?
