Pollock should be 100% untouchable. He’s a superstar.

AJ Pollock produced at an MVP type level this past season. His WAR was off the charts this year at 7.42 which was 9th in ALL OF MLB and he deserved better than where he was voted within the MVP race. This guy may never be given the respect he deserves, but he is one of the best OF in the game. Hopefully he continues his dominance in every category like this past season and him and Goldy lead AZ to a playoff spot, even though I am a Padres fan. But regardless, the D-Backs are one of the sneaky teams for 2016.

Agree the guy is extremely nice but let him touch 4 WAR for a second time before ranting about his greatness.

Thine who doubt the talent of the Pollock bahh!!
Let he whose legion of of the snake be your downfall thine heathen of the infernal cxcx!

2015 was the second season of excellent performance in a row for Pollock. He broke out at this level of performance to open the 2014 season. The only thing that stopped him from going 5 WAR in 2014 was that he was hit by a pitch that broke his hand, which wound up costing him 10 weeks of the season.

Mvp level now that’s funny good season yes but mvp lol

I agree they just need pitching.

The Braves are out of their mind thinking the Dbacks would consider Pollock for Miller. Maybe they should ask the Pirates for McCutchen…
aff10
Guess it doesn’t hurt them to try, but there’s no way they honestly believed Arizona would say yes. More likely they asked if there was a framework around Miller that could pull in Pollock, to which the answer would still probably be no

The only possible way the Braves would get Pollock is if they had packaged Andrelton and several prospects around them. That really is it. But of course they traded several mid level SP guys for him so that is gone.
seamaholic 2
Andrelton isn’t worth as much as you think. That was a fair deal they made (although a strange one for both sides).

I wonder if Sonny Gray for A.J. Pollock is close. Who turns down that trade? I don’t think I’ve ever seen Pollock play so I don’t know.
cxcx
A’s wouldn’t do that I don’t think as they’d be giving up a year of control. Also you don’t really see lateral superstar trades like that. And it’s not like Pollock is an excess piece, AZ really needs his production if they wish to compete.
If they were to theoretically trade him I’d think it would be for multiple affordable, controllable pieces that they like. Like if they thought Miller and Teheran would both be good for their peak 3-4 win seasons on a regular basis I could see the two of them being the start of a package. But even that would be lateral since the two combined at their best are about as good as him at his best.

Teams don’t realize how good Mike leak really is for a third starter. He would help any team in baseball. I watch basically all reds home games in person. He’s the best athlete on the field 90% of them, he does not breakdown and he gets ground balls, he’s used as a pinch runner, a pinch-hitter and they rave about his outfield play during batting practice. And he’s young

Wow, you guys make me laugh.
Hey, let’s skip the playing and put into the Hall of Fame right now!
Superstar???? Really, Seriously!
seamaholic 2
Easily. You need to get out more. There aren’t 10 more valuable assets in all of baseball.
slasher016
I agree he’s a great player, but top 10 player in all of baseball? Hmm, don’t think I’d go that far. WAR isn’t the end all stat.

On Pollack…be forewarned about giving him a big payday after his age 31 season. It’s folly to pay a player in his 30s for the production he gave you in his 20s.
