Grienke & MadBum being caught by Posey with Bochy & that spacious outfield – but let’s not fool anyone highest bid per year wins no matter the years for Grienke. Wherever you go, I hope you run into Carlos Quentin again

The comparison to Maddux is interesting. He was extremely effective for his age 32-36 years (average of about 5 bWAR per year) but tailed off gradually after that, as he was no longer able to fully compensate for the loss in velocity. One thing that always amazed me about Maddux was his durability. In a 19 year stretch, he was over 200 innings every single season except one, when he pitched 199.1.

Grienke is a stud, any comparison to Maddux is top of the line – better bet than David Price

The other absurd thing about that stretch – 2 of those were strike shortened years in ’94 and ’95. He only made 25 starts in ’94, and still managed 202 innings. That is over 8 innings per game.
